Marilyn Kredel - Pianist

Marilyn Kredel began studying piano and violin at the age of seven in Fort Scott, Kansas, where her father was a minister and her mother a school teacher and organist. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University, both near Chicago.  She did additional study at Millikin University, the American Conservatory of Music, and with Frank Glazer at the Eastman School of Music in New York.  Marilyn has held positions on the music faculties of Georgetown College and Wheaton College, and served as organist and/or music director of various churches throughout the United States.  As accompanist and vocalist, she has performed at the Vatican in Rome, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and Carnegie Hall.  Her solo piano CD, “When Morning Guilds the Skies” featuring classical and sacred works, has been distributed to many countries on all seven continents. 

In addition to performing solo and duo piano concerts, Marilyn has been Associate Organist at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale, Arizona for the past fifteen years.  She sings with the Phoenix Symphony Chorus, serves as Auditor for the Central Arizona American Guild of Organists, and is on the Board of Directors for Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya.  In pursuit of their interest in other lands and cultures, Marilyn and her husband Don, have traveled to more than one hundred countries, twice circumnavigated the globe, and witnessed nine total solar eclipses around the world.
